The Norwegian Military Bands
Since January 1st 2003 the Norwegian Military Bands have been in one combined organisation under the command of the Inspector of Military Bands Norwegian Armed Forces.
There are 5 professional bands. From north to south:
The Norwegian Army Band, Northern Norway, Harstad
The Norwegian Air Force Band, Trondheim
The Norwegian Armed Forces Band, Western Norway, Bergen
The Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces, Oslo
The Royal Norwegian Navy Band, Horten
The Norwegian Military Bands are one of Norway’s largest cultural institutions, with 178 full-time employees, linking the professionalism of highly trained musicians and officers.
