MIC Music Information Centre Norway

Music Information Centre Norway – MIC – works for increased use of Norwegian music domestically and internationally. The centre informs and profiles on the qualities of the professional Norwegian music life (composers, performers and other participants), regardless of genres and artistic style.

MIC has developed good services for music publishing and information about the Norwegian music scene, in order to increase income and to strengthen the further development of the centre. An extensive music industry directory provides information on more than 10000 Norwegian musicians and institutions.

MIC was established in 1979. The founding was initiated by the Norwegian Society of Composers and the Norwegian Cultural Council. MIC’s goal is to MIC is the Norwegian section of the International Association of Music Information Centres – IAMIC, which organises 39 similar centres in 37 countries. MIC receives funding from the Norwegian Ministry of Church and Cultural Affairs.
