Vietnam Institute for Musicology (VIM)

Vietnamese Institute for Musicology (VIM), formerly the Musicology Division of the Culture and Arts Bureau, was established in 1950. VIM at present is an institution belonging to Vietnam National Academy of Music under the Ministry of Culture and Information. With its specialization, VIM is mainly responsible for collection, preservation, research and dissemination of Vietnamese traditional music within the nation and on worldwide basis. In addition to this, VIM conducts research works and implements social scientific activities, such as organization of scientific seminars on music and clubs for composers to introduce and disseminate achievements of musical research and composition.
