Barratt Due Institute of Music

Barratt Due Institute of Music

Barratt Due Institute of Music (est. 1927) is the only music institution left in Norway with learning and education programmes for children, youths and adults all under the same roof. Dedicated professors and professional musicians offer the very best in education, and talents of all ages interact on several levels in various ensembles and orchestras.

Talents are provided with an unparalleled opportunity to engage with challenges at their own musical level hile socialising with people of their own age. Communication and ensemble playing are central to their education from the very beginning. Combined with individual teaching, this allows the young musicians the opportunity to develop into complete musicians, based on their own potential and their own individual musical voice.

Through  master classes, courses and seminars for those aiming for a professional performing career, and giving teachers at the Vietnam National Academy of Music an insight into the curriculum of an instrumental teacher, the Practical-Pedagogical Education, Barratt Due shares its expertise in both the musician and teacher side of talent development in the Transposition  project.
